Advisory: Starting AY 2018-2019, UPSE will be accepting applicants to the MDE full-time (day) program ONLY. Evening classes, however, will be open for continuing MDE students.

  • Entrance examination for shortlisted applicants: 5 May 2018
  • Interviews of short-listed applicants: 7 and 8 May 2018
  • Notices to admitted applicants sent out: 21 May 2018
  • Refresher course for incoming students: 9 June to 28 July 2018 (8 Saturdays)

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS RE: MAY 5 EXAM:

  • VENUE: The examination will be held at UP School of Economics. (MDE shortlisted applicants will be at Room 123; MA applicants will be at Rooms 125 and 127).
  • WHAT TO BRING: Please bring pen (black / blue), and any government-issued identification card with your photo and signature. Dress accordingly.
  • EXAM COVERAGE: Examination will cover reading comprehension, logical reasoning, quantitative, and basic economics.¬†
  • INTERVIEW SCHEDULE: FINAL Interview schedules will be given on May 5

The UP School of Economics offers courses leading to the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (Economics), Master of Arts (Economics), and Master in Development Economics (MDE). These programs are designed to provide future economists in government, industry, non-governmental and international organizations with rigorous training in the methods and applications of economic analysis.

1. An application fee of PhP 1,000 (US $40 for foreign applicants) is required for processing of the application. You may deposit your payment to:

2. Upon payment, please do one of the following:

a) attach the scanned deposit slip (with your name on it) to your online application (you will be asked to do so when you fill out the online form)
b) send us an email attachment a copy of the deposit slip to graduate@econ.upd.edu.ph
c) send your deposit slip by fax to (632) 920-5460 or (632) 920-5463

Only applications with confirmed payments will be considered. You may check with the graduate office if payment was received.
